Refunds, failed payments, and when protection stops

30-day money-back guarantee. The full terms are in the license agreement, section 3.

Cancel a subscription within 30 days of its first payment and that payment is refunded in full and the subscription ends at once. Protection stops that same day, not at the end of the month — the billing page calls it “cancel at period end”, but inside 30 days the refund ends it immediately. Cancel after 30 days and your coverage runs to the end of the period you have already paid for. We may decline repeat refund requests, for example for a new subscription bought after an earlier refund.

If a payment fails, you get an email that day, one more four days later, and a last one on day seven, with a reminder on the Mac each day. SentryScreen keeps protecting for those 7 days. If the payment has still not gone through, protection stops until it does.

Protection also stops when a canceled subscription runs out, or when we refund a payment in full. SentryScreen stays installed and starts protecting again when you renew.

If our servers are unreachable — an outage on our side, or a Mac that is off the internet — nothing changes on that Mac straight away. It keeps protecting for 7 days past the date you have paid through, and after that it stops until it can check in again.
